It is with the greatest sadness and appreciation that we note the passing of a great friend to our organization, Peter Mullin.
Peter Mullin (1941-2023) was an impassioned supporter of our cause and long-time traveler with our Balbianello Circle. The above photo of Peter and his lovely wife Merle was taken in 2017 during our Balbianello Circle tour of Puglia.
Peter was the founder of the M Financial Group and chairman of its subsidiary, M Financial Holdings. Additionally, he served as the chairman of Mullin Barens Sanford Financial. He was the founder and patron of the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, California, an homage to antique cars that the New York Times described as “a collection of gemlike structures… displayed just as you might have seen them had you attended one of the Paris auto salons in the Art Deco era between the World Wars.”
Peter’s interests stretched far beyond the automotive, and he and his wife, Merle, were avid travelers, art and music enthusiasts, champions of higher education, and ardent philanthropists.
We remember Peter for his sense of humor, largesse, and as an influential and amiable friend. He is survived by his wife, Merle Mullin, his children, grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters. He is predeceased by a brother, Stephen, and his beloved daughter, Courtney Mullin.
Peter Mullin is remembered by his wife, Merle Mullin, in the Los Angeles Times.
